About Hawke's Bay Anniversary Day 2026
Hawke's Bay Anniversary Day is the regional anniversary day for the Hawke's Bay province. In 2026 it's observed on Friday, 23 October. The anniversary itself is 1 November. Observed on the Friday before Labour Day.
Employment New Zealand notes that provincial anniversary days follow the old 19th-century provinces rather than today's council boundaries, and suggests checking with your local council for the most reliable date. No law makes shops close on an anniversary day, so each store sets its own hours.
NZ Post lists Hawke's Bay Anniversary Day among the regional days that can affect delivery times and asks you to allow one to two extra working days for mail.
