About Taranaki Anniversary Day 2027
Taranaki Anniversary Day is the regional anniversary day for the Taranaki province. In 2027 it's observed on Monday, 8 March. The anniversary itself is 31 March. Moved to the second Monday in March to avoid Easter.
Employment New Zealand notes that provincial anniversary days follow the old 19th-century provinces rather than today's council boundaries, and suggests checking with your local council for the most reliable date. No law makes shops close on an anniversary day, so each store sets its own hours.
NZ Post lists Taranaki Anniversary Day among the regional days that can affect delivery times and asks you to allow one to two extra working days for mail.
